Be prepared to provide information about your legal problem, income, assets, and number of people in your household. If you are not a US citizen, you must be able to provide proof of your legal residency when meeting with staff.

History:
The Lana`i Legal Aid office was founded in the early 1970's after Lana`i community leaders campaigned for an on-island office. Since then it has been staffed by a half-time paralegal, except for a two-year period from 1989-1991 when funding cuts forced Legal Aid to cover the island with a circuit-riding attorney. Legal Aid staffs the only law office on the island of Lana`i.
