APIL'S RUN FOR JUSTICE

Advocates for Public Interest Law (APIL) wants YOU to run for justice!  Join APIL & William S. Richardson School of Law for the Second Annual APIL Run for Justice on April 3, 2010.  Last year, APIL member Brandon Kimura combined his passion for running and public interest law and launched a fundraiser for the APIL summer grant program.  Participants enjoyed a 5k run around the beautiful campus of University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.  Former Chief Justice William S. Richardson greeted every runner, jogger, and walker at the finish line with a high five and a warm smile.  WSRSL students ran alongside former Justice Steven Levinson and their first-year Torts professor Mari Matsuda.  The Legal Aid Society of Hawai‘i showed up as a group to run and support the event.  The inaugural APIL Run for Justice raised $3,000.

The Second Annual APIL Run for Justice will commence on Bachman Lawn, located at the corner of University Avenue and Dole Street, at 8:00AM on Saturday, April 3rd.  Everyone is welcome – young and old, runners and walkers, and lawyers and the community.  Get your entry in by April 2nd and receive a commemorative APIL Run for Justice t-shirt.  Door prizes and awards will be given.  Non-students pay $20 for the entry fee.  Students pay $15.  Can’t run?  Make a donation anyway to APIL to celebrate APIL’s 25 years of promoting public interest law in Hawaii!
