Intake Paralegal – Honolulu Part-Time
We are seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Intake Paralegal to assist clients through Legal Aid's centralized hotline, which involves screening applicants for eligibility, completing online applications, providing legal information and advice under the supervision of attorneys, and providing referrals. The schedule is somewhat flexible, but applicants must be available at least 20 hours per week during regular business hours between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Compensation: $18.55/hour - $23.25/hour commensurate with experience.

Requirements:
- Associates degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or equivalent experience required.
- Client or customer service experience preferred.
- Some legal experience is preferred, but training will be provided.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse low-income and disadvantaged populations required.
- Able to work under pressure in an empathetic and professional manner required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and strong computer skills required.

Paralegal: Housing Discrimination Project
The Paralegal will provide client assistance in housing discrimination cases, develop culturally relevant outreach materials and conduct community education. The Paralegal is based out of the Honolulu Legal Aid office and will be expected to travel to outreach sites across the island.
